Arnold Kitching from Outposter joins the pod today! We delved into his role, experiences, and the world of business process outsourcing (BPO).
Arnold joined Outposter nearly two years ago and has since been a pivotal member of the team managing Australian clients. His journey into the BPO industry was unexpected, as he initially focused on digital marketing, leveraging his background in graphic design and computer science. Transitioning into mortgage broking allowed him to understand the intricacies and demands of the industry, particularly the tedious back-end tasks that many brokers prefer to outsource.
Mortgage broking involves a lot of repetitive tasks like data entry and document chasing, which can consume valuable time that brokers could otherwise spend on business development. It also requires dealing with Banks and lenders that can take a huge amount of time out of one’s day. Arnold shared a success story of a New South Wales mortgage broker who started with one outsourced staff member and expanded to five. One of these team members even earned a nomination for an award from AFG, highlighting the quality and impact of their work.
One of the highlights of our conversation was Arnold’s experiences in the Philippines. Having visited Manila four times, Arnold spoke about how welcoming and culturally aligned Filipinos are with Australians, which eases the outsourcing process. He emphasised the significance of the BPO industry to the Philippine economy, noting how entire streets are dedicated to BPO offices, contributing substantially to the country’s GDP.
When asked about advice for companies thinking about outsourcing, Arnold encouraged them not to be afraid to give it a try. He recommended starting with mundane tasks, such as backend web development, which are time-consuming but essential. Outsourcing these tasks can free up time for companies to focus on more strategic activities.
On a more personal note, Arnold revealed that he spends his downtime at the gym and following the English Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur being his team of choice. This passion for football is a family tradition, influenced by his English father.
Arnold’s insights provide a compelling case for the benefits of outsourcing, especially for industries like mortgage broking and digital marketing. His experience and dedication to client satisfaction make him a valuable asset to Outposter and a trusted source for businesses looking to optimise their operations through outsourcing.
Stay tuned for more conversations and stories that delve into the world of BPO and beyond.

We work with clients across Australia, New Zealand, and the USA, with most clients reporting an average of 70% cost savings when outsourcing with us.
If you are thinking of a specific role, chances are that someone has already found a staff member in the Philippines to do it. With high-speed internet available in the Philippines, anything that can be done on a PC or a phone can be done overseas. Everything from animation to engineering.
Generally, if we have staff members available within our organisation, you can get started on the same day. If we don’t, it will usually take between 3 to 6 weeks after we have custom designed your process/campaign to find a qualified professional.
We take data security and privacy of our client information very seriously. In our 15 years of operating in the Philippines, we have never had any data breaches. Every staff member handling sensitive information is required to use Teramind, a security tracking software, which is included in your price. This reports back to management and our full-time data security team of any potential breaches of our policies, which are all based on the internationally recognised security system ISO27001.
Once you hand over the role description, our in-house recruitment team will search through our existing networks to find potential candidates. We then conduct three separate interviews with the candidate. First, with our recruitment team, second with our Australian management, and the final one with you. All recruitment is free of charge, as your billing doesn't start until the day they start.
